Guest speaker in Media Center speaking to students

MHS students were given the opportunity to hear from Jon Grubb, Field Representative with the Laborers Local 159. Jon spoke about the many job opportunities available to students immediately upon graduation. The organization offers joint apprenticeships and training programs that provide on the job training, excellent pay/benefits, pension and annuity to the laborers. With multiple opportunities in the solar farms coming to this area, he spoke of the many jobs that will be available to men and women 18 and up.  He told students that laborers are the backbone of the construction industry and they perform work in every facet of construction including highways, pipeline work, concrete, masonry, demolition, and so much more. Applications are taken the first Tuesday of each month and information can be found at www.illaborers.org
