Senior Grayson Haenig, along with his supervisors from Birkey's in Mattoon and Casey, were on hand this week to speak to students regarding the job opportunities that are available in the ag/construction service related fields. Additionally, Birkey's offers a college pathway for employees wishing to obtain further certification and higher ed courses.


They told students that Birkey's was Born from a small shop in Fisher, Illinois in 1954, called Birkey's Farm Store, which has now grown to 19 stores, one administrative office, and 500+ employees.


The 100% employee-owned organization, headquartered in Champaign, Illinois, owns and operates a network of full-service Case IH agricultural and Case construction equipment stores throughout Illinois and western Indiana. The Birkey’s network serves the Illinois communities of Annawan, Arthur, Bloomington, Casey, Galesburg, Gibson City, Henry, Hoopeston, Macomb, Mattoon, Newton, Oakland, Polo, Prophetstown, Quincy, Shelbyville, Urbana, as well as Williamsport, IN and Hannibal, MO.


Representatives brought give away items and brochures about their service industry field for the MHS students.
