Mrs. Morrison attended Eastern Illinois University and studied English and Journalism.
She said she loves the kids and her coworkers in Martinsville…“I also love knowing my own children received/are receiving a quality education.”
“I enjoy the students humor and knowing I'm a safe space for them if they need one.”
When asked why she entered the teaching profession she said, “honestly, because as an English major who wasn't going to leave the area, I didn't know what else to do. Luckily I fell in love with working with teenagers on a daily basis and it doesn't hurt that I get to pass on my love of literature and writing.”
One of her favorite moments as a teacher is watching the success of former students. Mrs. Morrison noted, “one of my former students who didn't have the best home life completed a degree from VU in daycare and has since opened her own business. She still keeps in touch with me.”
