Rachelle Dunckel met with MHS students on behalf of the Sarah Bush Lincoln physical, occupational, and speech therapy department to educate high school students about these careers. SBLHC understands that making a decision about a future after high school can be very overwhelming for students and they are providing forums like this to foster relationships with area students to provide guidance in whatever way might be helpful.
Rachelle told MHS students “the demand for allied health fields continues to rise and the supply of providers is not keeping up. We would like to increase awareness that the field of rehabilitation therapy can be an excellent career, but we understand that knowing how to pursue an educational path to achieve these degrees can be challenging. Salaries in places like SBLHC are sometimes more lucrative than urban areas because of the shortage.”
Thanks to Mrs. Dunckel for allowing our students to hear about these career opportunities. For more information, please email RDunckel@sblhs.org
