During the 2023-2024 school year, we will highlight our AMAZING Martinsville District Staff! Each one of our staff members began a career in education for a reason and we've asked them to walk down memory lane and "REMEMBER YOUR WHY". Today, Jennifer Ogle remembers “her why”. Currently, Jennifer is a HS Special Ed Aide. Jennifer attended LLC (associate’s degree), EIU (bachelor’s degree) and U of I Champaign-Urbana (master’s degree) to obtain degrees in both Psychology and Social Work.
Jennifer said what she loves most about working in the Martinsville School district is that it is the “same small district where I was born and raised and am now raising my child. It is friendly and has passionate staff who care about helping our kids succeed and achieve goals.”
When asked why she chose education she said, “I truly feel like it chose me in high school, but I pursued a different career path. However, my passion for helping youth never left me and I "landed" in education as a substitute teacher and realized how much I LOVED it and was able to secure a full time job.”
One of her favorite ‘a-ha’ moments this year was described like this, “A student who has been struggling these last few weeks in a math class meets with me during study hall to review the material. I've been able to help them "learn" it in a different way that they could understand better and I was so delighted that they did very well on a quiz recently! It was great when the student returned to me to say "I finally got it!”
We are so thankful for Jennifer Ogle returned to her alma mater to help kids!
