During the 2023-2024 school year, we will highlight our AMAZING Martinsville District Staff! Each one of our staff members began a career in education for a reason and we've asked them to walk down memory lane and "REMEMBER YOUR WHY". Today, District Librarian/Tech Coordinator/Teacher Jenny Williams will be highlighted. Mrs. Williams attended Indiana State University and obtained a BS in Marketing, BS in Business Education, & MS in Library Science.

Mrs. Williams said, “Being a 1987 graduate of Martinsville, I am incredibly proud to work for this district.  My husband, Tony, and I have always been Bluestreaks!”

She added: “having graduated from Martinsville and being an employee for the past 22 years, I now work with the grandchildren of my high school classmates and friends.  I enjoy watching this new generation grow and become successful.  I am one of the few employees that work with Kindergarten through High School Seniors.  I have watched students grow up from children to young adults.  It's honoring to help them learn new topics in elementary school that may follow them to college or the workforce.”

Mrs. Williams recalled: “when I was in college for my Marketing Degree, I briefly changed my major to Business Education but changed it back to Marketing so I could graduate on time; however, I should have stuck with Business Education because I couldn't get teaching out of my mind.  I genuinely believe the teaching and working with students is my calling.”

“I have always liked the challenge of finding the perfect books for students who ‘don't like to read.’  I aim to get students to read and help them discover the joy of reading; and, celebrate their progress and the books they enjoy to foster a positive reading experience.  My efforts can significantly impact their reading habits and, ultimately, their education.”

We are so thankful for Jenny Williams who returned to her alma mater to help kids learn to love reading!
