Tori Young, MHS Senior, has volunteered to be an aide in 1st grade this year at MES. Tori is currently undecided about her college major, but after working with students, we certainly hope she considers the teaching field!

First grade teacher Mrs. Young says "the kids love it when Tori gets to the school. They are all wanting to read with her and tell her all about their day. It definitely helps me so that the kids are able to get more one-on-one time and get extra help with their reading. Tori also helps if a child is having a tricky time figuring out the concept in math. She is able to work one-on-one with them covering the lesson and helping them get the hang of it."

Tori said that the experience "has helped me realize that education could be a good career for me because I look forward to seeing and working with the kids every day." She highly recommends for future seniors to volunteer especially "if they considering elementary education to get hands on experience of what to expect."

We love it when our older students help out our littlest learners...what a great experience for everyone!
