Senior, Landry Price, performed the role of Tom Turkey (a student who is consistently tardy and absent from school) in front of MES 2nd/3rd graders. The comical attendance skit was meant to highlight the importance of good school attendance. Students who attend school regularly are more likely to read proficiently, perform well academically, and graduate from high school. The skit also highlighted that regular school attendance helps build a strong foundation for learning that will help students succeed in the future. Additionally, students who attend school regularly set a positive example for others and help create a community of responsible students. The skit was written by Mrs. Norton who coordinates with ROE 11 to provide truancy services.
